Progressive stores are still paying Puerto Rican employees

What makes a store progressive? We'd all like to shop in small, privately owned shops that pay
their employees well and give full benefits. But those are not only hard to find, they are often
outside our budget for day to day needs. When possible, small businesses owned by
progressives
will always be my first choice. But, realistically, I also need to consider the big
chains.

So, what chains are ok? Target and Starbucks always stands up for LGBTQ people. WinCo is
employee owned. And, I recently discovered the stores owned by TJX Inc, TJ Maxx, JCPenney
(also LGBTQ friendly), Home Goods and Marshall’s, have been paying their Puerto Rican
employees while the stores have been closed. Starbucks and Nordstroms did as well.
Starbucks has been able to put all their employees back to work in the stores that are open, so
don't need to anymore. Nordstroms did for a while then offered employees a severance.
Obviously Nordstroms isn't one of the big chain stores I would choose to save money, but didn't feel it was fair to not mention them when listing stores that stepped up in Puerto Rico by taking care of their employees.

If I have to shop in big chain stores to save money, I will look to these places first. We should
reward good behavior in the corporations that are our neighbors as much as we boycott the
Hobby Lobbys, Papa Johns and Carl Jr's of the corporate world.
